Teacher Joe
About Teacher Joe
Joe Costigan has been playing music for most of their life. Starting their musical with upright bass in fourth grade, they eventually fell in love with playing drum kit at 13 and went on to play in multiple bands in the metro Detroit area. Though drum kit has always been their main instrument, they grew more and more interested in the piano and guitar, exploring the musical capabilities with all instruments. Through their efforts with different instruments, they have sought to better understand music theory and how music works as both an art form and a science.
Teaching Philosophy
Adapt to the student’s needs and learning styles, and raise their confidence in their ability.
Why Teaching?
I find teaching to be an incredibly rewarding process of helping students both complete a given task and learn more about themselves and the world they live in. Having a positive role model to guide them through learning is essential to them feeling confident in their abilities.
