Ms. Jess
About Ms. Jess
Jessica Covian is studying Vocal Music Education at Oakland University and is currently in her third year. She has loved music ever since she was little when she would perform little concerts on the fireplace at home. At the age of five, she began piano lessons and fell in love with the instrument and continued throughout high school. Having a choir teacher as a mother, she was also emerged with the world of singing where she would go to many choir concerts as well as Musicals. She has been in a total of two musicals, Shrek and Newsies, and tried her first opera a couple years ago, Cosi Fan Tutte. Jessica to this day still loves playing the piano and singing and is very happy she can share her talent with so many students!

Why Teaching?
I teach because music has been such an amazing part of my life and has filled me with so much joy that I want to bring that happiness to my students. Music has always been by my side and has let me express myself in so many ways and I feel it is important for everyone to have that in their life.
Teaching Philosophy
I believe that learning should be a fun and engaging experience where students learn the tools and skills to be able to execute tasks by themselves for the majority.
